Listen to the radio on the Ortus 2, which boasts 20 station presets so you can access your favourite stations with 3 easy access preset buttons.
Hit the snooze button…
The any-button snooze means that you can reach out and touch any button to snooze your alarm - no more fumbling to find the right button!
The adjustable sleep, snooze and nap timer let you put the morning on hold and stay in bed that little bit longer.
Charge your smartphone.
With the USB socket you can charge your smartphone, tablet or other similar devices by simply plugging them in to the Ortus 2.
Another great feature is the bedtime listening function - the audio fades down as you reach the end of the sleep timer you've set, so it doesn't interrupt you when you're drifting off…
The Ortus 2 also has a night-time display.
The digital clock display appears brightly at the touch of a button then fades back to black after 10 seconds.

The controls are not straightforward and I have to keep the instruction book beside it at all times; I love playing my iPod but it doesn’t charge it; my alarm has started going off at midnight every night even though it’s set for 6.25. Will be binning it.
Alarm setting straight forward just don't do for the first time when you are about to go to sleep. Tip look at the preset buttons to find the alarm. So ignore my earlier post!
Great sound no idea how to set the alarm cannot find standby mode, if it's not going to wake me it's no use. It can go back tomorrow .
Bought this a year ago this month and now playing up. I see others have the same problem of random alarms going off which render it useless. I contacted Roberts this morning requesting they revert before we have our ceremonial destruction service this evening with a glass of wine and a hammer but clearly they do not have my sense of urgency re my ability to get up in the morning without first being woken at midnight. MY recommendation DO NOT BUY and I will be looking for an alternative tomorrow.
I like the clock radio very much but I’ve given up trying to set up more that 3 presets on either DAB or FM. The manual is not at all clear in explaining how to do this and the multi function buttons are confusing too.
Twice the alarm has not triggered after adjusting and saving a new time. A flawed product. Speaker quality could be better for the price.
I'm surprised by other reviewers. I'm not a rocket scientist but find this easy to use. I did find it odd to turn the dial for different purposes but works ok. I usually use the 'sleep' button to have the radio on for up to 30 minutes in the middle of the night which is easy to operate and to find different pretuned stations in the dark. I'm now buying another one as a Christmas gift.
I really enjoyed this until the random alarm bugs started (I notice another reviewer has experienced the same problem). Basically whatever time I set alarm 1 to, it also goes off at midnight. I could live with this until alarm 2 started doing similar as well. That one now goes off at the set time and 6:20 am. it’s now unusable as an alarm clock unless I want to be disturbed at midnight or get up at 6:20.
The sound is pretty good and as usual the Roberts styling is excellent. What prompted this review is that I've just been woken up for the third or fourth time in the middle of the night because the 1st alarm randomly goes off at midnight as well as the time when it's supposed to. I also find that the other alarm randomly goes off at times when it hasn't been set.
Would of given 5* review but at rep of £80 I think it’s a little pricey. Bought to replace other leading manufacturers similar £50 model which had poor sound and limited buttons to control everything. The other radio also had poor auto dimmer options and unresponsive buttons This Roberts sounds much better less tinny and more punchy, not quite low end hifi quality but for a bedroom I have no complaints It has a button to toggle the dimmer for backlight, 3 preset station buttons plus a further 7 can be set and changed through the rotary dial All the buttons are responsive and it’s a smaller footprint than the “Sure” other one I sent back from another company The alarms seem quite easy to set to me and 2 can be set, any button to kill the alarm on waking is useful just turn off the snooze function for this Some have said this is complex to work but most features make sense and instruction book has everything you would need for ref Very happy with purchase, Roberts do some great prices on their outlet to bring price down
Decent enough but would be better if things like the alarm had on off switches instead of such ridiculously complicated programming.
Great design and sound with excellent features but how the ?+=? does one negotiate the menus reading from the manual does not always compute there are far too many multi-functions across the same buttons Definitely not user-friendly and trying to find more than 3 pre-sets is a joke apart from the software its a very nice item.
