2 alarm timers.
Wake up to DAB, FM or buzzer.
Plus, you can change the alarm duration to 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes to suit you.
Listen to the radio on the Ortus 2, which boasts 20 station presets so you can access your favourite stations with 3 easy access preset buttons.
Hit the snooze button…
The any-button snooze means that you can reach out and touch any button to snooze your alarm - no more fumbling to find the right button!
The adjustable sleep, snooze and nap timer let you put the morning on hold and stay in bed that little bit longer.
Charge your smartphone.
With the USB socket you can charge your smartphone, tablet or other similar devices by simply plugging them in to the Ortus 2.
Another great feature is the bedtime listening function - the audio fades down as you reach the end of the sleep timer you've set, so it doesn't interrupt you when you're drifting off…
The Ortus 2 also has a night-time display.
The digital clock display appears brightly at the touch of a button then fades back to black after 10 seconds.
When in standby, it has a large clock display with the time.
You can also adjust the display dimmer at night so that you can sleep peacefully.
Play music from your smartphone.
An auxiliary input socket means you can plug in and play music from your smartphone too.

My son purchased me this product for Christmas as he knew my old one was drifting off-tune. To start with HE had to set the alarm for me as I couldn't take in the complexity of the instruction book. I would point out here that he does have a degree in mechatronics from Leeds University. I have since tried several times to set the 'sleep' function, - following the instruction manual to the letter step by step - needless to say without success.(Do you press the button once? Do you press it and hold it? Do you press it again? It is all quite un-clear) I further note that in the event that one could easily set this function there seems to be no way of checking whether you have done so successfully or finding how to activate it later. Is there a paragraph missing from the instruction book? Therefore I concur with most of the negative points raised above. It might have been a good idea to the chap who designed it as he was probably an electronic engineer, BUT we the 'general public' aren't, and the instruction book was obviously written by someone else which is why I have given it a poor rating. I came onto this site trying to get an answer to this problem as I feel I am not the only purchaser to have given up on it. The unit itself appears to be quite well made but that's no good if you can't get it to work and my patience has become exhausted. From the forgoing comments that is now obviously how other people feel as well! I shall have to return to my old radio to get the important sleep function on that and put up with it drifting off-tune in the middle of the night.. (PS: I did myself work for a radio manufacturer at one time so I am not a complete duffer in these matters!)
Very disppointed. I received this radio as a Christmas gift (Dec 2019). When the alarm and snooze functions are used the radio comes on for seconds before being interrupted by the buzzer. I have tried resetting the alarms, using different alarms (e.g. alarm 1 and alarm 2) but still the buzzer issue persists. I have also tried a factory reset, but all to no avail. Even if the snooze feature isn't used once the alarm has activated the radio cuts off and the buzzer sounds. This issue can't be blamed on poor DAB service either because if I turn the alarm off and switch the DAB radio on it works perfectly with a strong DAB signal I have 2 other Roberts radios (not radio alarms) and have never had any problems. This radio lets down the long established reputation of the brand
I bought two of these alarm clocks for my teenage children in the hope that they can get themselves up! Now one of them is playing up and goes off at midnight waking up pretty much the whole household. Now one very tired mum!
I like the look and features of this clock but when Alarm 1 is set it also goes off at midnight. The good news is that it also goes off when intended but its clearly unacceptable to be woken up at midnight each night..
Like many others, was initially happy, had it for Christmas, but for the last month it has been going off at midnight as well as at the preset time. Most infuriating. Have contacted Roberts support so let’s see what happens.
Thought it was me being stupid but I am having just the same problem. alarm going off at midnight even though not set. This is infuriating. Bought a Roberts radio because they are meant to be really good quality but this is driving me and the rest of my household mad. Please tell us the solution or offer a different model. I bought it a while ago and this has only started recently but clearly is a design fault unless you can offer some magic solution which I haven’t worked out.
This is a decent radio and alarm BUT same as everyone else. The alarm randomly goes off at midnight disturbing a decent nights sleep. I have no idea why?! Please get this fixed because it’s a bit of a joke
Alarm goes off at midnight so this is effectively useless as I have had to turn it off. Just rubbish.
Hi, I can’t find any help online or in the product manual. My Roberts Ortus 2 alarm keeps going off at midnight every night despite having it set for 6:40 weekends & 8:20 weekends. It sounds at these times too. But the midnight isn’t set?? Please help .... in need of a night sleep.
The controls are not straightforward and I have to keep the instruction book beside it at all times; I love playing my iPod but it doesn’t charge it; my alarm has started going off at midnight every night even though it’s set for 6.25. Will be binning it.
Alarm setting straight forward just don't do for the first time when you are about to go to sleep. Tip look at the preset buttons to find the alarm. So ignore my earlier post!
Great sound no idea how to set the alarm cannot find standby mode, if it's not going to wake me it's no use. It can go back tomorrow .
Bought this a year ago this month and now playing up. I see others have the same problem of random alarms going off which render it useless. I contacted Roberts this morning requesting they revert before we have our ceremonial destruction service this evening with a glass of wine and a hammer but clearly they do not have my sense of urgency re my ability to get up in the morning without first being woken at midnight. MY recommendation DO NOT BUY and I will be looking for an alternative tomorrow.
I like the clock radio very much but I’ve given up trying to set up more that 3 presets on either DAB or FM. The manual is not at all clear in explaining how to do this and the multi function buttons are confusing too.
