Made to measure however will need small screwdriver to fit properly have used regularly since purchase very happy with battery life
Purchased from Roberts 5 December 2019 as at 22 April will not charge up and when it did only gave a life of a few hours also fixing is a problem with screws wrong length
I live where traditional radio reception is not very good, so having internet radio is the only way to gain good and acceptable performance reception with the addition of a vast choice of radio stations. By having the fitted battery means that where traditional radio reception is even weaker, having the internet radio and battery this creates absolute access to any radio station anywhere in my flat.
Makes my 93i more flexible and mobile. I like to listen to internet radio while washing the car. True there is a slight degradation to the audio quality by this is negligible and offset by being able to use the radio where there is no mains power available.
I purchased this rechargeable battery pack to accompany the Stream 94i Radio so that the radio could be portable for my wife , unfortunately unless the battery is kept permanently connected to its charger only a couple of hours playing time could remain in the battery pack as even in standby mode the battery pack is draining. The battery pack is well made and works well when fully charged but it limits the portability of the radio would have liked to have more playing time without having to have the radio on permanent charge.
i purchased the stream 94i and a rechargable battery bp93i to become portable , i followed the instructions to fit the battery and after carefully putting in the longer screw at the top of the battery to fit it on the back of the radio it snapped off so half the thread is stuck in the radio and there is nothing to hold the battery on the back apart from the 2 smaller screws , bad design or faulty cast screw ? , why not make the radio case a bit bigger and have the battery slot inside with a cover over it , like a digital camera battery but bigger , so the battery can be purchased and changed as and when needed, the shop i got the radio from dont want to help as i fitted the battery so its my fault , i have been involved with all kinds of electronics all my life and never had this sort of problem , at the cost of almost £250 for a radio and battery i would have expected a lot better , as for the radio it has a poor sound and poor sensitivity dab is garbled and fm is hissy , so its a waste of money i cant get a refund as the screw snapped off , time to do a bit more research and buy a better radio.
I grew dissatisfied with the inflexibility of the iStream 2 and so bought a Stream 93i plus a BP931, in order to be able to continue listening to a programme whilst moving from one room to another. I can now do that. I needed to buy new, small screwdrivers to fix it in position, but that's a small additional cost and no doubt they will come in useful.
You can't use DAB radio or the UNDOK app on the 94i whilst charging the battery. Technical support are fully aware of this problem and said nothing can be done.
93i is now portable. So I can have good sound anywhere in the house.
The pack attaches to the back making the radio deeper and blocks the sub woofer a bit. When recharging it interferes with the DAB and WifI signals so sometimes unusable. Compare with Pure radios pack
makes radio portable easy fit no problems
