Switch on to switch off: How to relax with your Roberts radio.

Our mobile phones have almost become an extension of ourselves in today’s world, and it can sometimes be hard to relax, unwind and switch off, even for just a few moments of the day.

You may suffer from many a rough night sleeps, or worry about life’s little stresses as soon as you wake up; either way, it’s normal – but there are some small things you can do to make a big change to your wellness.
Now more than ever, radio has become an ever-comforting part of many peoples’ lives. Whether that’s tuning into your favourite station on your way to work, or catching up on a podcast you’ve been dying to hear all week, we enjoy this moment to forget everything else and enjoy the moment. 

But there’s a whole new way of practising mindfulness, and that’s through your Roberts radio. With any one of our internet radios, you can tune into some of the best relaxation podcasts the internet has to offer – without being glued to your phone. Here’s a round-up of some of our favourites.


1. Headspace meditation podcast.

This series of short podcasts have been specially-designed to help you use meditation and mindfulness to relax. Each week, host Georgie Okell, talks to athletes, explorers, scientists, members of their Headspace community and more, to educate us about the mind.

2. Mental health foundation podcasts.

MHF have a wealth of knowledge, informed by rigorous research and practical-based studies; and to help their expertise reach millions of people in the UK, they’ve created some quick and easy-to-follow podcasts that can help you practice mindfulness at home.

From making small changes to your diet and nutrition, to getting outside and exercising, sitting back for 10 minutes to relax or following some simple tips on how to improve your sleep, their series of podcasts will all help contribute to your mental wellbeing.


3. BBC Radio 4’s Mindfulness.

Radio 4 now has a whole collection of short and long podcasts to listen to covering a range of topics related to health and wellbeing – all from a range of speakers, health experts, professors and even comedians.

Whether you want to learn a little more about the origin of mindfulness with Melvyn Bragg and guests as they discuss Zen, or listen in to Ruby Wax as she discusses her Guide to Mindfulness – each can offer you a more-rounded understanding of mindfulness as a whole.


4. Untangle by Meditation Studio.
