New favourite

Love my new little radio which has replaced a true 70s vintage one that finally packed it in. I have not used the advanced digital features yet, but 'just' as a radio it is extremely easy to set up and the sound quality is excellent.

Stylish quality radio.

Stylish quality radio. Bought this reduced in the sale but would not have paid full price. Substantial though not overly large radio with good sound at both low and high volume. Easy to set up with plenty of presets for both FM and DAB bands. Bluetooth was easy to set up too and when paired to mobile phone with a variety of music apps (Spotify, Amazon Music, YouTube, iDagio etc.) it provides excellent range of music resources. Good clear information screen with wide range of information to display. Battery life is good and I have now fitted rechargeable batteries for portable use but use main power indoors. When fitted with 6 x C6 batteries it is quite a hefty radio.

Disappointing in the flesh

Looks nice but the wood is plastic and the sound indifferent. Not as good as other classic models

Great radio let down by Bluetooth sound quality

Looks great. Easy to tune and dab works well. Bluetooth lacks depth of sound

Best radios

Fantastic value currently with £50 off. Looks fab in our kitchen. Hope it lasts as the 2 other Roberts radios I’ve got, both are 15 years old now.

It's a Roberts

It's a Roberts, if it had obvious preset station buttons it would be even better

A sad mistake.

I was very disappointed with the radio as to me the sound was very muffled and there appeared to be no way of adjusting it with bass and treble so after two days I purchased the new more expensive radio which is far more complicated to set up. As I only want to listen in the mornings whilst I do the daily chores in the kitchen I have not gone into setting it up with my wifi which is much too complicated for an 88 year old duffer at the modern technology. I did check with Roberts as to whether it was possible to improve the sound and was asked to send them a recording so they hear my problem. That was far too technical for me hence the later purchase. I now have a twice used Blutune to find a home for --- Charity shop perhaps? By the way my hearing is very good.

First thoughts

Page 4 - “We would recommend …………. moving my radio option for occasional or standby use only.” I don’t see me moving my radio very often so it would be useful to be able to remove the handle. I once had a Hacker Sovereign where this was possible.
Display very clear, really like the ‘Dimmer’ option.
Listen mainly to R4 Xtra (so need DAB) and R4 so not too worried about digital’s ‘clinical’ sound. If listening to music I listen to FM through my HiFi system.
I have two other small Roberts radios (useful for going on holiday) through which rechargeable batteries can be used and recharged through the radios, this would be useful on this radio considering the cost of the batteries used.
Don’t expect to use Bluetooth much, if at all - must be my age!
The above may appear negative but I am pleased with the radio. I was looking for something a bit larger than what I already had and it was a good price.

Don’t hesitate to buy this radio

Great radio for the money. Picks up loads of stations and had good crisp sound. Looks good on the kitchen worktop, well with the money

Elégant poste de radio

J'ai trouvé ce modèle élégant et aux fonctions relativement simples. La notice est en plusieurs langues. Juste quelques difficultés pour saisir le fonctionnement des chaines à mémoriser.
