Bought this as a replacement, last one( exactly the same) was in constant use for about 5 years. Tried a cheaper brand but stopped working after 1 day!! Gave it back and bought another of what I knew I could rely on!

Simple and straightforward

Well made with simple controls. I use it while walking and in most places in the hills and valleys I get good reception.

It’s good, you switch it on,search for a channel then listen to it. Don’t like it? Search for another.....

Great Personal DAB Radio

I have owned one of these for a month or so now, having moved from a Sony FM Walkman. I had tried a personal DAB radio before, with a Pure Move 1500 when they were first released, and it didn't work well. I wasn't sure what to expect from the Roberts Sports DAB 5, but to be honest, I am blown away. I use this to listen on a motorcycle commute, about 50 minutes per day. It will not let go of the BBC DAB signal in my area (Edinburgh), unless you go indoors or into a tunnel or whatever. It rejects all the interference from a noisy motorcycle ignition and lights, which played havoc with my old FM radio, and the signal remains rock-solid at all times. Battery life is equally impressive (for a DAB radio), I get about 7hrs from a pair of fully-charged NiMH AA batteries. Sound quality via a set of Sennheiser CX1.00 in-ear headphones is excellent for both voice and music, and there seems to be no problem using third-party headphones as the antenna. An excellent piece of kit, which is let down only slightly by the build quality - it looks nice, but feels cheap and delicate. I've dropped it once on a hard surface though, and it still works perfectly.
