Brilliant radio - great sound

I have been researching various brands to get a small radio for using about house and garage. I also wanted one that had the option of batteries and mains supply. I decided to try a Roberts Play radio as I had seen good reviews and it was also reasonably priced. I am I glad I chose this one, as it it is exactly what I wanted, for Price, size and sound. It also has all the features I need and is not complicated to work.

Needs 21st Century Technology added

Almost excellent but the simple (cheap) addition of Bluetooth transmit would enable wireless headphones and better speaker systems.

Funky design and good quality sound

I bought this during lockdown and am very pleased with it. And it arrived the following day! I had been thinking about a portable radio for a while, and spending more time at home gave me the push I needed to get on and buy one. I had a Roberts radio a few years ago that recharged the batteries while it was plugged in, and that seemed a good idea so I thought I'd try it again (hopefully this one will last longer). It ran for several hours on the rechargeable batteries last week while I was decorating (no extra wires to trip over) and it has remarkably good sound quality for such a small radio, easy to use, and a cool design.

So good we bought it twice

Our second Robert Play - great DAB radio - we bought one in 2018 and it’s so good that we bought another to replace and old plug-in FM radio.

Exactly what I wanted. I listen to it when I'm having a soak in the bath and in the kitchen when I'm cooking. The sound is very good for such a small radio and extremely good with headphones drowning out the noise of the neighbourhood when I'm sitting outside. No problems with DAB and FM reception. I can see I'll be taking it with me on picnics and camping. Worth the cost.

Absolutely thrilled that such a cute little radio can produce such an awesome sound!! Really good looking as well. I have recently purchased three radios, and “PLAY” was specifically for taking into the garden to enjoy whilst gardening or relaxing. Love ROBERTS RADIOS so much and it is quality every time!

Roberts Play Compact Radio

An excellent compact radio. Feels made to last, great sound quality and range of controls, features and options and easy to set up . A huge improvement on the larger DAB radios I have owned in the past . Built in charger ( you can use with rechargeable batteries or standard batteries ) I have had over 20 hours from a charge . I absolutely recommend this radio

Another fine Roberts product

A first class radio - excellent sound and easy to operate. I’m running it off the mains as I haven’t had the opportunity to get batteries. Does exactly what I was looking for.
