Reviews
I bought two of these alarm clocks for my teenage children in the hope that they can get themselves up! Now one of them is playing up and goes off at midnight waking up pretty much the whole household. Now one very tired mum!
I like the look and features of this clock but when Alarm 1 is set it also goes off at midnight. The good news is that it also goes off when intended but its clearly unacceptable to be woken up at midnight each night..
Like many others, was initially happy, had it for Christmas, but for the last month it has been going off at midnight as well as at the preset time. Most infuriating. Have contacted Roberts support so let’s see what happens.
Thought it was me being stupid but I am having just the same problem. alarm going off at midnight even though not set. This is infuriating. Bought a Roberts radio because they are meant to be really good quality but this is driving me and the rest of my household mad. Please tell us the solution or offer a different model. I bought it a while ago and this has only started recently but clearly is a design fault unless you can offer some magic solution which I haven’t worked out.
This is a decent radio and alarm BUT same as everyone else. The alarm randomly goes off at midnight disturbing a decent nights sleep. I have no idea why?! Please get this fixed because it’s a bit of a joke
Alarm goes off at midnight so this is effectively useless as I have had to turn it off. Just rubbish.
Hi, I can’t find any help online or in the product manual. My Roberts Ortus 2 alarm keeps going off at midnight every night despite having it set for 6:40 weekends & 8:20 weekends. It sounds at these times too. But the midnight isn’t set?? Please help .... in need of a night sleep.
The controls are not straightforward and I have to keep the instruction book beside it at all times; I love playing my iPod but it doesn’t charge it; my alarm has started going off at midnight every night even though it’s set for 6.25. Will be binning it.
Alarm setting straight forward just don't do for the first time when you are about to go to sleep. Tip look at the preset buttons to find the alarm. So ignore my earlier post!
Great sound no idea how to set the alarm cannot find standby mode, if it's not going to wake me it's no use. It can go back tomorrow .
Bought this a year ago this month and now playing up. I see others have the same problem of random alarms going off which render it useless. I contacted Roberts this morning requesting they revert before we have our ceremonial destruction service this evening with a glass of wine and a hammer but clearly they do not have my sense of urgency re my ability to get up in the morning without first being woken at midnight. MY recommendation DO NOT BUY and I will be looking for an alternative tomorrow.
I like the clock radio very much but I’ve given up trying to set up more that 3 presets on either DAB or FM. The manual is not at all clear in explaining how to do this and the multi function buttons are confusing too.
Twice the alarm has not triggered after adjusting and saving a new time. A flawed product. Speaker quality could be better for the price.
I'm surprised by other reviewers. I'm not a rocket scientist but find this easy to use. I did find it odd to turn the dial for different purposes but works ok. I usually use the 'sleep' button to have the radio on for up to 30 minutes in the middle of the night which is easy to operate and to find different pretuned stations in the dark. I'm now buying another one as a Christmas gift.
I really enjoyed this until the random alarm bugs started (I notice another reviewer has experienced the same problem). Basically whatever time I set alarm 1 to, it also goes off at midnight. I could live with this until alarm 2 started doing similar as well. That one now goes off at the set time and 6:20 am. it’s now unusable as an alarm clock unless I want to be disturbed at midnight or get up at 6:20.
