Small but well made

Although small the radio performs very well with great sound output and ease fuse. its small size means it fits on our bedside table to wake us up gently!

unreliable alarm

Loved my ortus 1 at first. But it can’t handle power cuts. The clock sorts itself out so you wouldn’t know there’s even been a power cut. But the alarms are another matter. Although they look like they’re still set they aren’t. To fix it we had to go and change the alarm time to something different and then back, not the simplest of operations, I need to refer back to the instructions each time. I’ve reverted to taking using my mobile phone as an alarm as I can’t rely on my ortus because you can’t tell if the alarms will work or not. I emailed Roberts 3 months ago, no response

A big problem

While radio on time is not displayed. Surely this can't be intentional?

Small and beautiful.

Small and beautiful but the sound could do with a little more bass.

Neat little DAB clock radio but sound is poor

I’m a big fan of the Roberts brand, having had a few of their radios, clock radios, and CD systems over the years. So when our old DAB clock radio expired I sought out a Roberts to replace it. This is small and compact, and it’s easy to set the alarm and it also looks great. But I have to say I’m disappointed with the sound quality - it’s so tinny and this spoils the rest of the good features of this product. Great shame, as it’s not a cheap clock radio but it is let down by the sound quality.

No longer fit for purpose

Bought as a replacement to another Roberts radio alarm clock, now wishing I'd kept the old one. Last few weeks it's started going off on its own accord at midnight if I have an alarm set. Have. Checked all the settings and only 1 alarm is set for 7am so no clue as to why this is happening. Aside from that, it's OK to use and for a bedside alarm works fine!!

Good radio - until power failed

Have been really happy with this. But about a year after I purchased the radio it has just gone dead

Exactly what I was looking for.

Easy to set up and use, and reliable.

Unfortunately it didn't work for me.

The display was too small for my fading eyes. Would probably be fine for a younger person.

Can't handle power cuts

Despite the fact that it's a great device I had to return mine because it behaved really weird - alarm going off at random times. So got a replacement and it's just the same - one alarm clock set for 8 this morning, it went off at 7! And then at 8! It's basically a flawed system. If you can't trust an alarm what use is it??

Poor reception

DAB reception is very poor. This radio was purchased to replace another brand DAB radio costing a third of the price which in the same location and weather conditions had vastly better reception. This radio looks nice, but don't waste your money.

Fab clock radio brilliant

Roberts dab clock radio doesn’t take up much room on bedside cabinet. Sound pretty good for its size. A bit difficult to set up initially, and have to refer to instructions every time I want to change the alarm time, I’m sure this will get easier the more I it!
