Previously happy but disappointed this time

I have been happy with previous Roberts products, especially the wonderful, and wonderful-sounding Stream 107 I have used daily for the past 18 months. The Blutune T2, however, was a great disappointment and had to be returned. Although bought as a new product, it showed clear signs of having been not just damaged, but damaged and repaired. Perhaps worse still, the sound quality over Bluetooth or USB was simply too poor to be usable, and this in the lows, midrange and especially the high frequencies where entire words from tracks became almost muffled and at times inaudible. Now I don't expect too much from a radio with a small speaker or from compressed audio formats (like MP3) but the Blutune T2 was simply unpleasant to listen to, while, in comparison the cheaper Robert Stream 107 despite its tiny speaker and playing the very same audio files (over wifi) has a crisp full sound. I unfortunately cannot give the Blutune T2 more than one star as to me it was sadly unusable.

Didn't Work Properly From Day One

NOTE: This is a review of the PLAY:T1 not T2 (identical except T1 doesn't have Bluetooth). Emitted a high pitched whistle from the day I got it. Roberts supplied a replacement adaptor to see whether they would help but that made it worse. Then expected me to take the issue up with their spares department (er, why?). A complete waste of time and effort.

What a fantastic gift!

Birthday gift for my husband and he loves it! usual high quality of Roberts Radios as expected. My husband loves all the functions this radio has and it fits by the bed a treat. The dimmer switch is most useful, as is the clock face. This radio is beautifully made, looks classy in the bedroom and we highly recommend it.

Delightful travel companion

I bought this for travel. Having owned Bluetooth only sets I missed my morning radio when I travel around the UK. When I am not travelling it’s sits by my bed and despite the cat resting his head on the radio it is robust and well designed to be cat proof and travel proof. More importantly you don’t have to charge around looking for batteries as I put some rechargeable ones and they have done the trick of not needing batteries. The sound is classic Roberts - warm, engaging and not too loud so people in the next room don’t have to listen to your music as well. In the evenings I also use it for connecting to my phone which is the repository of my music when I travel. So in summary a perfect not too heavy travel companion that delivers much more than you expect.

DAB changeover.

Very nice radio, slightly puzzling to set up but very good once its down. The only criticism is the on /off button is very similar to the mode button and very close?

Love it.

I love this radio, which takes it's design cues from it's bigger brother the 94i. It's perfectly portable when using the four AA batteries, and has super sound quality, considering it has only a small speaker. I can listen to my vintage radio shows via it's USB player, too.

Superb Quality

I am delighted with my purchase, although I’m finding some of the controls a bid tricky. The quality is superb and sound reproduction excellent.

Blutune T2

Bought the Blutune T2 for our motor home but have to retune it everywhere we stop. Sometimes there is no DAB Radio stations. Does work well otherwise.

Good compact radio

Purchased for a birthday present for my husband after seeing the advert online. He is a big Roberts Radio fan. We found the sound quality excellent in all modes and when coupled with current techy functions such as Bluetooth which means we can play music from our phone library. The only gripe is the the rechargeable batteries that we fitted (which are of good quality) don’t seem to last more than 2 days following an overnight charge. The radio is on constantly as a companion from 09:00 until 18:00. Maybe try Alkaline batteries as comparison. For this reason I have not marked it as high as it deserves

Review of blutune t2

the features of this are exactly what I want although I would prefer it to be a bit smaller. The sound quality leaves me a little disappointed, it is not quite clear. It does not match up to my other roberts radios - my sports DAB 3 in particular. I like to listen quietly and clearly to spoken voice and music.

Great radio with fantastic sound and features

Bought this radio a month ago and couldn't be happy with my purchase. The quality of build is great and the sound is fantastic giving its only a mono speaker from a small unit. Useing the radio is easy to use with separate volume and tune knobs which helps with looks, ease of use and control. Reception of fm/dab is fantastic. All round fantastic unit from such a small radio.

Superb little bed-side radio

Particularly appreciate the dimmable analogue clock feature- easy to read without spectacles also the one touch presets of favourite stations.

Great little radio, with Bluetooth

My wife accuses me of being a radio fanatic, often with radios playing the same programme in 4 rooms. This new Roberts Radio Bluetune T2 is a little gem.
