Good looking and portable

Nice looking, portable, good sound, good reception and works well as a Bluetooth speaker. Not a big sound, but balanced.

Impressive

I was hesitant when purchasing this but its impressive features caught my attention as well as its convenient size. I found it very easy to set up, intuitive, manual not necessary. The sound quality is surprisingly good. It is easy to connect your smartphone via Bluetooth so can play music directly or stream from the internet via a mobile. It uses standard AA batteries or re-chargeables and can charge them internally. DAB and FM station presets are intuitive. I find its size good too, convenient as a portable but also good as bedside alarm. The clock sets automatically and the display is clear. I like that its British and a well designed quality product.

A worthy contender

The Blutune T2 does everything that could be expected, and does it very well. (Well, I say 'everything' but I haven't explored all its capabilities.) Sound quality, including via Bluetooth, is excellent, as one would expect from Roberts. It is a compact unit that would be lovely as a bedside radio. I especially like the analogue clock display, and struggle to find a better word to capture that than 'cute'. The sound quality is great, including via Bluetooth. But the bonus is that the T2 can be powered from rechargeable AA batteries (not supplied), which makes it truly portable (to the bathroom, shed or whatever). Rechargeables must be more environmentally friendly than conventional alkaline batteries, Others offer internal batteries, and I suppose that when they fail (as eventually they will) there is little practical alternative but to discard the whole unit. So, I am pleased I bought the T2 and commend it to your serious consideration.

Excellent radio

The Bluetune T2 is an excellent little radio and speaker. In particular the extremely low dim level is welcome when used at the bedside.

Very pleased.

It does everything it says, very pleased. Sound quality is good. Easy to programme. Excellent connectivity. Just remember to buy rechargeable batteries if you want to carry it around the house (which I do).

Great Radio concept but poor quality

Bought 2 months ago, and fantastic sound and functionlity, but on/off power button has intermittent fault and won't turn unit on or off, rendering the radio useless. Roberts said to return to Currys where I bought it from, but obviously they're closed so don't know what to do now. This is a real shame, and not what I would expect from a Roberts radio. Have other Roberts products which are fabulous, but no confidence in this. Currently awaiting Roberts technical support to get back to me, as I want them to arrange delivery of a brand new replacement radio

Previously happy but disappointed this time

I have been happy with previous Roberts products, especially the wonderful, and wonderful-sounding Stream 107 I have used daily for the past 18 months. The Blutune T2, however, was a great disappointment and had to be returned. Although bought as a new product, it showed clear signs of having been not just damaged, but damaged and repaired. Perhaps worse still, the sound quality over Bluetooth or USB was simply too poor to be usable, and this in the lows, midrange and especially the high frequencies where entire words from tracks became almost muffled and at times inaudible. Now I don't expect too much from a radio with a small speaker or from compressed audio formats (like MP3) but the Blutune T2 was simply unpleasant to listen to, while, in comparison the cheaper Robert Stream 107 despite its tiny speaker and playing the very same audio files (over wifi) has a crisp full sound. I unfortunately cannot give the Blutune T2 more than one star as to me it was sadly unusable.

Didn't Work Properly From Day One

NOTE: This is a review of the PLAY:T1 not T2 (identical except T1 doesn't have Bluetooth). Emitted a high pitched whistle from the day I got it. Roberts supplied a replacement adaptor to see whether they would help but that made it worse. Then expected me to take the issue up with their spares department (er, why?). A complete waste of time and effort.
